What is IPPD?

Integrated Product and Process Design (IPPD) is an outstanding experiential education program at the University of Florida within the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. Multidisciplinary teams of senior-level undergraduates work for two semesters designing, building and testing authentic products for industrial sponsors.

To guide their efforts, we rely on the expertise of UF faculty coaches here on campus and the professional guidance of liaison engineers at the sponsoring companies.

IPPD Mission

Our mission is to teach undergraduate students from various engineering disciplines how to design products and processes over two semesters.

Our students work in small multidisciplinary teams to design and build authentic industrial products under the guidance of faculty coaches and industrial liaison engineers.
