Week 20

This week, Fly Bye has been working on getting the machine learning model on our image prototype microcontroller. Fly Bye was also able to test out the infrared CAD design with the McPhail trap. The box design for holding the Fresnel lens and infrared PCBs needs to be reworked as it does not fit seamlessly inside, and it will be redesigned accordingly. The infrared PCB design is complete and will soon be sent off to the manufacturer. Once the manufactured PCBs arrive, Fly Bye hopes that the flies will be more cooperative with the new design, and a more successful infrared data collection process can begin. Next week, Fly Bye wants to collect more infrared data from the USDA lab to start the ML process for the infrared project.

In sad news, one of Fly Bye members broke their elbow on the way to class on Tuesday, which is very sad. Feel better, Whitney!
