Week 18

Last week, Flye Bye’s progress on the image-based prototype was stunted by extremely bad luck: all 6 of the ESP32-CAMs broke. One of them suddenly short-circuited when plugged in and became extremely hot. Another one showed a brownout error. Thus, Fly Bye attempted to use one of the remaining 4, all of which were in the same shipment. This turned out to be a bad batch: all 4 malfunctioned in the same way. This unfortunate discovery set progress back, in which Fly Bye had to wait on the shipment of a new batch. Fortunately, the bad-luck streak ended–where Fly Bye just received a new batch, and these work! Next week, Fly Bye will try new lenses on the cameras on these boards and try to get clearer images. Fly Bye looks forward to presenting their progress in QRB 1 next week as well!
