Welcome back everyone!

This week’s updates include not only progress on our prototype and package, but also some sneak peeks into what’s been going on in IPPD class. On Tuesday, our IPPD class had the honor of attending a guest lecture on Storytelling by Dr. Elif Akçali. It was an extremely engaging and interesting presentation, and the team was able to learn and gather information that might be useful in creating our upcoming demo video. Regarding project updates, the team was able to meet with Mohammed again, who is an engineer from Freedom Scientific and has been helping us out a lot throughout the course of this project. During the conversation, Mohammed provided a lot of insight and advice about controls relevant to JAWS key mappings versus those such as custom game controls; he also discussed how it is important to use controls that are simple and intuitive, irrespective of JAWS conventions. With these recommendations, the team plans to chisel down some of the controls we have for our application to try to make the controls as easy to learn and remember as possible.
