Winding Up

This week hurricane Ian hit Florida and we had time off of classes, impacting our work time towards the modular control board. Instead of recapping this week’s progress, we’ll outline the week before (9/19) since there is no post for it.

We saw the first models of the boards used in classes with our liaison Dr. Merida! Given the boards, we saw room for improvement given the requirements and specifications. We also ended the week off strong with a team-building workshop sponsored by Florida Power and Light! We are moving forward with the following improvements for each group member:

  • Luis Gallego (ChE): Conceptualizing expansions
  • Andrew Kraus (EE): Improvements of the board and simplifying wiring
  • Hyeong Been Joo (CS): Consolidation of programs

We will pick up where we left off with continuing research of each of our parts, and we will begin concept selection/conception. Stay tuned for more!

Recs and Specs

Our first meeting with our liaison went well last week! We got our scope of work and got to see the current model of the control board.
