Mariana Viso

Mariana Viso is a fourth-year biomedical engineering (BME) student, who is graduating this spring. After graduation, she plans on pursuing a PhD in BME and work for a medical device manufacturing company in the future. She adores doing research and has been working in a biomedical engineering lab at UF (Dr. Keselowsky’s lab) since freshman year! Over the summer Mariana did research at the Washington University in St. Louis, where she studied the biomechanics of blood vessels (Dr. Wagenseil’s lab). Mariana enjoys reading comics in her free time and is currently reading a horror/suspense series called: The Nice House on the Lake.

Erynne San Antonio

Erynne San Antonio is a fourth-year biomedical engineering (BME) student. Her plans after graduation this spring are to continue her education in a PhD program specialized in Neural Engineering. Her desire to pursue a PhD in this field was discovered when she joined The Neuroprostheses Research Lab (NPR Lab) here at UF during the spring of her freshman year. This past summer, Erynne was working on writing a paper (as a first author!) on the research she has been doing at the NPR lab. Her plans are to publish the paper prior to graduation. While engineering is Erynne’s end goal, she has also played with the UF orchestra every semester since freshman year!

Ryan Aponte

Ryan Aponte is a fourth-year computer science (CS) student with a minor in mathematics. His plans after graduation are to go to graduate school in CS to study artificial intelligence. He researches the origins of language with Dr. Kevin Tang at the Speech, Lexicon, and Modeling Laboratory. Ryan enjoys spending time with members of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE).

Sumanth Aluri

Sumanth Aluri is a fourth-year computer science student with a minor in electrical engineering. After graduation he plans to attend graduate school to further study machine learning. Sumanth discovered his passion for machine learning as a freshman when he joined Dr. Fang’s SMILE lab. Since then, he has worked on several projects pertaining to app development and computer vision. Sumanth enjoys exploring new places and relaxing with a cup of coffee or boba.
