Marissa Garcia – Computer Science
Marissa is a motivated senior at the University of Florida, majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. In May 2021, she plans on graduating and pursuing a career in software engineering. At school, Marissa enjoys getting exposure to different fields in computer science, from databases and security, to artificial intelligence and digital arts. Marissa spent her college summers interning as an Embedded Software Engineer at Motorola Solutions in South Florida. She had the opportunity to work on a next generation smart radio featuring a touchscreen and LTE connectivity. In the future, Marissa sees herself pursing an MBA to experience a career in management so that she may apply her technical experiences to leading other engineers.
Ryan Pujols – Industrial and Systems Engineering
Ryan is a 4th year Industrial and Systems Engineering student at the University of Florida. His involvements at the University include the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering and the Integrated Product and Process Design (IPPD) Program. Through IPPD, he is working with American Express to build an app on iOS/Android to conduct contactless transactions through the use of Bluetooth Low Energy beacons. Previously, he ran his own calculus tutoring business. He tutored college and high school students in Calculus to try and get the students to better understand the information and prepare them for their exams. He applied different learning techniques to his students that he had learned and fine-tuned through volunteering as a boys under 10 and boys under 6 head soccer coach while in high school.
