Morgen Renee Anthony

Mechanical Engineer (Major) Electrical Engineer (Minor) French (Minor)

Pronouns: She/Her

Morgen has internship experience at Geosyntec Consultants, where she worked on soil and groundwater remediation projects. Additionally, she has conducted coastal ecology research with UF’s Center for Coastal Solutions. After graduation, her dream is to work with a non-profit organization, aiming to serve those most affected by climate stress by creating sustainable solutions to address their fundamental needs. During her free time, she enjoys reading French YA novels and books about ecosystems, and she seizes every opportunity to go backpacking.


Alexander Mariano Chang

Mechanical Engineer (Major) Electrical Engineer (Minor)

Alexander has worked as a Failure Analysis Engineer for Space Electronics at Honeywell and interned at Northrop Grumman as a Systems Engineer in Software Sustainment for the B2 program, obtaining a secret clearance. He has also served as a TA for engineering design, teaching students multidisciplinary engineering skills such as solid modeling, coding in Arduino, and rapid prototyping using a 3D printer. As for hobbies, he enjoys developing code or scripts to facilitate daily tasks, keeping up with technologies like AI or Machine Learning, and engaging in freelance photography.


Manuel Cepeda

Mechanical Engineer (Major)

Pronouns: He/Him

Manuel Cepeda, originally from Venezuela, moved to the U.S. in 2017. Manuel’s internships at PepsiCo were filled with learning and real-world impact. In Tampa, he worked on the Can Line and managed to cut down cleaning time for the flavor changeover by 18 minutes. In Orlando, he developed an automated report that improved order management for the Contract Operations Team. In addition to his academic and work experiences, Manuel took a leadership role at the Venezuelan Student Association as Vice President, organizing events and helping fellow students with their professional careers. He’s also passionate about soccer, having played for Universidad de Los Andes, where he proudly became the top scorer in the 2015-2016 season. Armed with skills in tools like ZARPAC, SAP-PP, and MATLAB, Manuel is looking forward to a career in Manufacturing after graduation. He’s also considering further studies with a master’s in finance.


Camila del Sol Pina

Biological Engineer (Major) Engineer Innovation (Certificate) Project Management (Ceritificate)

Camila, originally from Cuba, is passionate about water and environmental issues. They have research experience working with water quality. They are currently the president of the Tea Club on campus and secretary of the Florida Student Branch of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. In their free time, they enjoy hiking, crafting, and hanging out with friends.


Karim El Hajj Sleiman

Chemical Engineer

Pronouns: He/Him

Karim, originally from Lebanon, is interested in the dynamic nature of the energy sector as well as water conservation. Karim has research experience working with polymer membranes for effective carbon capture and PFAS purification and has recently completed an internship working on water/wastewater treatment projects at Kimley-Horn. He enjoys learning more about the innovative technologies necessary to secure a sustainable future and strives to utilize new ideas and learnings for process optimization. Karim is involved in Engineers Without Borders and also serves as the External Programs Director for the UF Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers as well as being a Resident Assistant. In his free time, Karim enjoys being outdoors, playing board games, tennis and listening to music.


James Daniel Unruh

Mechanical Engineer (Major) Sustainable and renewable energy (Certificate)

Pronouns: He/Him

James aspires to join a career in the sustainable and renewable energy industry. Last summer, he traveled to Iceland to learn more about renewable energy generation through the UF in Iceland study abroad program. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and 3D printing. When he engages in 3D printing, he finds satisfaction in repairing items and creating small things to enhance daily life. He looks forward to collaborating with his team and achieving significant accomplishments.
