PDR Presentation (Week 9)

After waking up bright and early this Monday, the Road Watch team commuted down to West Palm Beach for our first visit to our sponsor, FPL. The primary objective of this visit was to give our PDR ( Preliminary Design Review) presentation to our engineering liaisons and executive sponsor. Fortunately, our work thus far was well received, and our network at FPL is very supportive of this project. However, there were several important “soft” benefits from this meeting as well. We got the opportunity to put a face to a name for several of the critical individuals supporting this project. We were also afforded the opportunity to tour FPLs incredible facilities, where they coordinate power maintenance across the state. Lastly, this trip was a great team bonding exercise, and definitely contributed to our team formation and dynamic. With our PDR deliverables out of the way, the Road Watch team is switching into prototype mode, in preparation for Prototype Inspection Day on November 14th. Keep checking here weekly to watch our prototype evolve.
