After following all the instructions for installing\u00a0OpenCV, he used\u00a0\u201cmake\u201d\u00a0and the Raspberry Pi has been building for over 24 hours now. He hopes to finally finish installing\u00a0everything by tonight so that he can begin contributing code and doing testing.\u00a0In addition to this, Aaliyah used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pyimagesearch.com\/2016\/03\/28\/measuring-size-of-objects-in-an-image-with-opencv\/\">this tutorial<\/a> to start an image processing program.\u00a0However, that solves the problem in a 2D way, and the\u00a0mice live in a 3D world. We\u00a0must\u00a0begin thinking about a different solution.\u00a0The group has\u00a0also\u00a0recently purchased infrared sensors that will serve as the trigger our software to begin executing (taking photos\u00a0of the mouse and analyzing the diameter of the wound in the picture taken).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the\u00a0selfie\u00a0system team has been hard at work, Daniel has been\u00a0designing the 3D models of the physical enclosure. This process began with an analysis of previously measured size data of the mice. Once averages and a standard deviation was taken for seven different\u00a0measurements, the necessary sizes of each component were determined.\u00a0Using this as a starting point, the individual concepts highlighted in the PDR are now being brought one step closer to realization through CAD modeling in\u00a0Solidworks.
