This week, Team T.I.D.E. focused on incorporating feedback from our Preliminary Design Review (PDR) presentation and moving toward a unified prototype. We began consolidating individual prototypes, explored additional weather data sources near the provided track circuits, and performed automated rain event detection on additional tracks.
We also compared automated rain event detection results with manually identified events over the same time periods to evaluate the consistency of our approach. These comparisons will help us identify areas for improvement in our data processing and drainage metric development.
Moving forward, we plan to test additional weather metrics, improve our data processing methods, and bring our individual work together into a shared prototype on GitHub. We will also divide responsibilities for the initial prototype and investigate the availability of the required software and tools on HiPerGator.
We are awaiting additional feedback from KB Signaling on our PDR report, potential data sources, recommendations for improving our Grafana integration workflow, and clarification regarding a shared GitHub repository. Overall, our project remains on schedule, and we are continuing to move from individual analyses toward an integrated prototype.
