He is currently a Teaching Assistant for EML 4140: Heat Transfer, under Dr. Jing Pan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This past summer, he worked as a Field Service Technician Intern with K&amp;A Engineering, where he conducted comprehensive field inspections of transmission and distribution utility poles. He is skilled in SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, MATLAB, and lathe\/mill machining. He plans to graduate in May 2026. He has worked on projects ranging from autonomous satellite servicing concepts to material testing, and near-space investigations. Michael thrives at the intersection of hands-on engineering and applied research within a team environment. He is also in the combined BS\/MS program and will graduate with a Master\u2019s in Electrical &amp; Computer Engineering in May 2027. His area of focus is in FPGA RTL design and verification. He has experience as a Lead Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Programming for Electrical Engineering I (EEL3834), where he was honored with the ECE Teaching Excellence Award in 2025. Andrew also works as a Help Desk Supervisor with UF Information Technology, managing student consultants and improving support processes across campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His industry background includes an internship with Koch Industries\u2019 Georgia-Pacific and a Co-Op with<strong> <\/strong>Packaging Corporation of America, where he contributed to large-scale electrical system upgrades and automation projects. A National Merit Scholar and Billy Dial Scholarship recipient, he has worked in the Sawyer and Dunne labs at Moffitt Cancer Center, prototyped systems for microgel and nanoparticle synthesis, and gained expertise in CAD, 3D printing, and microscopy. His projects highlight creativity in moving ideas from conception to iterative prototyping and laboratory validation. He earned certification in Supervised Machine Learning: Regression and Classification and co-authored the paper <em>Neural Network-Based Magnetometer Sensor Model<\/em> as a researcher at APRILab.
