He will graduate in December 2026 with majors in Mechanical Engineering and Biology. With a value for interdisciplinary work, he is driven by the intersection of mechanical systems, applied biology, and human-centered design. His technical experience includes developing device drivers for microcontroller peripherals and Linux systems, programming FPGAs using VHDL, and rapid prototyping with embedded systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emilio enjoys working in multidisciplinary collaborative environments, having contributed to projects such as an automated medication dispensing system and the deployment of a task management website. His hands-on experience bridges the gap between low-level hardware programming and practical application development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond his technical pursuits, Emilio is committed to community service, having volunteered in food distribution programs for underserved populations. He aspires to use his engineering skills to create technology solutions that benefit his community and address real-world challenges. I\u2019m Jackson Abrams, a fifth-year electrical engineering student at the University of Florida with a minor in Sales Engineering. My academic interests include embedded systems, power electronics, and power systems, and I enjoy applying my skills to hands-on projects that make a real-world impact. He will graduate in May 2026 with a major in Computer Science and a certificate in Engineering Project Management. He has prior experience as a robotics coach and mentor at the high school level, where he developed organizational and leadership skills by supporting multiple teams in competition and renovating a robotics lab space to increase capacity. At UF, he served as the mechatronics lead on a six-axis 3D printing arm project in the Real World Engineering Club, where he designed a power distribution system and housing for the print bed. He is also an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), currently serving as SHPE Jr. Conference Director and working on outreach initiatives that introduce younger students to engineering. His experience spans Duke Energy, Siemens, and NextEra Energy, where he worked on grid modernization, advanced distribution management, and smart metering projects. At UF, he serves as Vice President of Professional Development for the ECE Ambassadors and has held leadership roles in Theta Tau, helping peers develop professionally through events and mentorship. Originally from Tampa, FL, Tyler is passionate about power systems and innovative technologies that drive a more resilient and sustainable energy future.
