Gehres Sakadales is a fourth-year student at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. He will graduate in December 2026 with majors in Mechanical Engineering and Biology.

Emilio Avendano
Major: Computer Engineering
Emilio Avendano is a senior Computer Engineering student at the University of Florida with a passion for embedded systems and systems programming. His technical experience includes developing device drivers for microcontroller peripherals and Linux systems, programming FPGAs using VHDL, and rapid prototyping with embedded systems.
Emilio enjoys working in multidisciplinary collaborative environments, having contributed to projects such as an automated medication dispensing system and the deployment of a task management website. His hands-on experience bridges the gap between low-level hardware programming and practical application development.
Beyond his technical pursuits, Emilio is committed to community service, having volunteered in food distribution programs for underserved populations. He aspires to use his engineering skills to create technology solutions that benefit his community and address real-world challenges. He enjoys reading and fishing in his spare time.

Jackson Abrams
Major: Electrical Engineering
Minor: Sales Engineering
Hi! I’m Jackson Abrams, a fifth-year electrical engineering student at the University of Florida with a minor in Sales Engineering. My academic interests include embedded systems, power electronics, and power systems, and I enjoy applying my skills to hands-on projects that make a real-world impact. Outside of class, I stay active through basketball, tennis, racquetball, and pickleball, which keeps me balanced and fuels my teamwork mindset.

Matthew Brown
Major: Computer Science
Certificate: Engineering Project Management
Matthew Brown is a fourth-year student at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida. He will graduate in May 2026 with a major in Computer Science and a certificate in Engineering Project Management. He has completed a Software Developer internship at Futurex, a world-class provider of hardware security modules, where he collaborated in a complete overhaul of the company’s web and LCD interfaces for their HSMs. Additionally, Matthew has a Professional Scrum Master I (PSM-1) certificate, and plans on earning his Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification following completion of his engineering project management curriculum in pursuit of his deepening interests in project management.
Outside of class, Matthew continues to demonstrate his commitment to community engagement and leadership through his positions as an Project Manager Director for the University of Florida chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and a teacher of free dance classes at the Gator Salsa Club.
Looking forward, Matthew hopes to use his technical expertise and communication skills to lead international projects that bridge cultures and break down barriers, as well as clean-energy and infrastructure initiatives.

Matthew Gutierrez
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Matthew G is a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Florida with interests in mechatronics, robotics, and systems design. He has prior experience as a robotics coach and mentor at the high school level, where he developed organizational and leadership skills by supporting multiple teams in competition and renovating a robotics lab space to increase capacity. At UF, he served as the mechatronics lead on a six-axis 3D printing arm project in the Real World Engineering Club, where he designed a power distribution system and housing for the print bed. He is also an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), currently serving as SHPE Jr. Conference Director and working on outreach initiatives that introduce younger students to engineering. Outside of academics, he enjoys rock climbing and community-building through outdoor activities.

Stephanie Baldwin

Stephanie Baldwin is a fifth-year mechanical engineering student with minors in electrical engineering and music performance. She plans to graduate in May 2026.

Tyler Senkowicz
Major: Electrical Engineering
Minor: Business Administration
Tyler Senkowicz is a senior Electrical Engineering student at the University of Florida with a minor in Business Administration. His experience spans Duke Energy, Siemens, and NextEra Energy, where he worked on grid modernization, advanced distribution management, and smart metering projects. At UF, he serves as Vice President of Professional Development for the ECE Ambassadors and has held leadership roles in Theta Tau, helping peers develop professionally through events and mentorship. Originally from Tampa, FL, Tyler is passionate about power systems and innovative technologies that drive a more resilient and sustainable energy future. Outside of engineering, he enjoys fitness and music, often spending his free time DJing and discovering new sounds.
