Week #5: Continued Development

Current Progress

Our main focus for Team Loyalty is to get our database set and populated with data. This data is going to include product information. The products information will include important details such as ID, name, color, sizes, etc. This will be useful for the shopping and searching experience for the guests and testing purposes. Additionally, it will allow for the next step in our AI chatbot so we can start developing with product recommendations. Our main challenge as of right now is to get the images associated with the product so it can be displayed. We are developing a web scraper to get the images but it is still a work in progress. Below is an example of the web images we are attempting to grab.

Next Steps

Our next steps include getting our web scraper working to be able to give our database products with information and images. This will be a huge step forward in our app development since we have the user experience pages setup and ready for more functionality. We cannot wait for more exciting milestones! Go Gators!

Week #4: Project Progress

Current Progress

January has now ended and the team learned important information and tips on project development from our instructors and the QRB#1 event. It has been a privilege to be given the opportunity to learn as much as possible from IPPD coaches as we planned for the development process for the spring semester. The team is working full steam ahead through February and using our management tools to stay organized and responsible. Below is a sneak peek of how our progress is going, this is not everything we have listed but just an idea. A demo of our app is soon to come!

Next Steps

Our next steps include continuing our current tasks in our project management tool and prepare for any assignments. We greatly appreciate all of the support of IPPD, coaches, and liaisons as we continue to develop our mobile app. We are excited and hope to have a demo soon. Go Gators!

Week: #3 QRB1

QRB1 Event

Above is a slide we showed our judges that included a video run through of our prototype and our planned design of our coded application.

Feedback

In our QRB1 presentation we showed slides of our plans for the semester, goals, teams, and how each part was going to be made over the course of the semester. We judges were wonderful and very informative. The team and judges had great discourse about our project and we answered any concerns they had. We also worked together and agreed upon the next steps and vital plan changes in case of certain events occurring. Overall it was a great experience to get guidance on our project this semester. Thank you to all of the judges for their time!

Next Steps

Our next steps include preparing for our assignment documents we have to start writing and we plan to stay on pace with our January and February plan so we stay on schedule for development. Thank you for all the support! Go gators!

Week #2: QRB 1 Preparation

Preparing

Team Loyalty is well on their way with development of the mobile application. The team has plans set for the whole spring semester and what we plan to accomplish each month. These plans helped up work on our QRB 1 which is next week! We are excited to receive all of the feedback from the judges so we can improve and build upon our project. We have been working as a team to develop slides to answer a doubts on our semester plan. We appreciate all of the feedback!

Next Steps

Our next steps as a team is to take all of the feedback we receive from QRB 1 and analyze it. We want to understand all of the criticisms and apply them to our project so we can be setup for success by the end of the semester.
Additionally, we are going to continue development of the mobile application and are excited to see the progress! Thank you for the support. Go Gators!

Week #1: Welcome Back!!!

The team is excited to get the project up and going. We did meet a few times over our break but took the much needed break so we could come back stronger! The team has made numerous plans for the rest of the semester and plan on reviewing them with our coach and liaisons soon!
We are excited to see how the semester unfolds and we thank everyone for their support! Stay tuned for more.

Week #14: System Level Design Review (SLDR)

SLDR Day

SLDR was a huge success! It was a great opportunity to meet others from different companies and projects while also gaining important insight in the professional world. We wanted to give a huge thank you to the Bealls Inc. team for coming out to meet us in person and for watching our presentation. Our team would not be where it is today without the help and guidance you all have provided to us. Additionally, we would like to say thank you to everyone who was also in attendance for our presentation and gave great feedback/questions.

Next Steps

So what is next for the team? As we head into the holiday season we will be taking around a month long break to recharge and spend time with loved ones. Then when we return for the spring semester, we plan on starting development for the mobile application.

Thank you so much for everyone’s support, and we will see you all when we return. Happy holidays from Team Loyalty!

Week #13: Peer Review System Level Design Review (SLDR)

SLDR

We appreciate everyone that was able to make it to the peer review session on Tuesday. We received great questions after our presentation and the audience was quite engaging. We have read the feedback received after the presentation and the team is grateful for all of it. We plan on working hard to address all of the comments, concerns, and suggestions.

Next Steps

As we go into the next week, the team is going to work on the action items from our feedback memo, fix our presentation slides, and polish our SLDR report. The team is going to be hard at work preparing for the final SLDR presentation but also enjoy some time with loved ones for this upcoming thanksgiving week.

Thank you so much for everyone’s support, and happy thanksgiving!

Week#12:  Preparing for Peer Review System Level Design Review (SLDR)Week#12:

Prototype Updates

As we get closer to SLDR, we have been hard at work with our liaisons on refining our prototype. We have taken as much feedback as possible from them, our coach, and judges. Our major changes to our prototype include a deep dive into our Bealls Florida section of our application. We wanted to give a real-time experience of our prototype by featuring Bealls seasonal promotions. Other updates include having the shopping features that differ between bealls and Bealls Florida when a guest is shopping for a product. We are excited to have a complete visual presentation for our audience in SLDR.

Next Steps

As we go into the next week, we will finish our SLDR presentation and first draft of the SLDR report. We are going to take all the feedback from our PDR report and apply them to our SLDR report. We will come together to make a concise presentation and make sure we practice for the peer review event so we can get as much feedback as possible.

Thank you so much for everyone’s support, and we will keep moving forward. Go Gators!

Week #11: Prototype Inspection Day(PID)

Team Loyalty PID Presentation

From Left to Right : Matthew Segura, Matthew Jung, Erick Giron, Ethan Zhu, Ronan Virmani, Joseph Benigno

Thank you to all the IPPD faculty that made this PID presentation possible. Additionally, we would like to thank Prof. Rong Zhang, Estefania, Ryan Ames, Prof. Christian Cardenas, Prof. John M., as well as Robert for providing valuable feedback on our presentation and giving us  nuanced perspectives on our scope and direction. This was overall, a very princess opportunity and fruitful event, and our team will take the steps necessary to address all the feedback.

Next Steps

As we go into the next week, we will finish on finalizing the Figma prototype, as well as potentially breaking ground with software development on Github. We will also begin preliminary preparations for the SLDR event.

Thank you so much for everyone’s support, and we will keep moving forward. Go Gators!

Week #10: Preparing for Prototype Inspection Day (PID)

Prototype Updates

We have been hard at work at coming up with better design ideas for our prototype. We have made major changes to the design to emphasize user experience. This includes making sure everything is readable. That means having a good color contrast between the background and text. Additionally, it means having the right font and boldness depending on the context of the page. In our new prototype as seen above, we have decided to change our pages to white and remove the gradient so it is easily readable. We also made sure the fonts and boldness were consistent throughout the pages where it made sense to have the same setup.

Preparing for Prototype Inspection Day (PID)

This week we were able to go over our prototype with our liaisons to get feedback on it as we prepare for PID. They approved of our new design choices and emphasized having consistent changes. They pointed out that we can make any design changes we believe is good but we have to be consistent. The team greatly appreciated the liaisons feedback and are going to make sure we implement them before PID.

Next Steps

Our next steps include making the necessary changes to our prototype and ensuring it is completely ready for PID. We also plan on rehearsing our presentation for PID so it goes smoothly and we can get as much feedback as possible.

We greatly appreciate the support and can’t wait to show you our prototype!
