Week #14: System Level Design Review (SLDR)

SLDR Day

SLDR was a huge success! It was a great opportunity to meet others from different companies and projects while also gaining important insight in the professional world. We wanted to give a huge thank you to the Bealls Inc. team for coming out to meet us in person and for watching our presentation. Our team would not be where it is today without the help and guidance you all have provided to us. Additionally, we would like to say thank you to everyone who was also in attendance for our presentation and gave great feedback/questions.

Next Steps

So what is next for the team? As we head into the holiday season we will be taking around a month long break to recharge and spend time with loved ones. Then when we return for the spring semester, we plan on starting development for the mobile application.

Thank you so much for everyone’s support, and we will see you all when we return. Happy holidays from Team Loyalty!

We appreciate everyone that was able to make it to the peer review session on Tuesday. We received great questions after our presentation and the audience was quite engaging. We have read the feedback received after the presentation and the team is grateful for all of it. We plan on working hard to address all of the comments, concerns, and suggestions.

Next Steps

As we go into the next week, the team is going to work on the action items from our feedback memo, fix our presentation slides, and polish our SLDR report. The team is going to be hard at work preparing for the final SLDR presentation but also enjoy some time with loved ones for this upcoming thanksgiving week.

Thank you so much for everyone’s support, and happy thanksgiving!

Week#12:  Preparing for Peer Review System Level Design Review (SLDR)Week#12:

Prototype Updates

As we get closer to SLDR, we have been hard at work with our liaisons on refining our prototype. We have taken as much feedback as possible from them, our coach, and judges. Our major changes to our prototype include a deep dive into our Bealls Florida section of our application. We wanted to give a real-time experience of our prototype by featuring Bealls seasonal promotions. Other updates include having the shopping features that differ between bealls and Bealls Florida when a guest is shopping for a product. We are excited to have a complete visual presentation for our audience in SLDR.

Next Steps

As we go into the next week, we will finish our SLDR presentation and first draft of the SLDR report. We are going to take all the feedback from our PDR report and apply them to our SLDR report. We will come together to make a concise presentation and make sure we practice for the peer review event so we can get as much feedback as possible.

Thank you so much for everyone’s support, and we will keep moving forward. Go Gators!

Thank you to all the IPPD faculty that made this PID presentation possible. Additionally, we would like to thank Prof. Rong Zhang, Estefania, Ryan Ames, Prof. Christian Cardenas, Prof. John M., as well as Robert for providing valuable feedback on our presentation and giving us  nuanced perspectives on our scope and direction. This was overall, a very princess opportunity and fruitful event, and our team will take the steps necessary to address all the feedback.

Next Steps

As we go into the next week, we will finish on finalizing the Figma prototype, as well as potentially breaking ground with software development on Github. We will also begin preliminary preparations for the SLDR event.

Thank you so much for everyone’s support, and we will keep moving forward. Go Gators!

Week #10: Preparing for Prototype Inspection Day (PID)

Prototype Updates

We have been hard at work at coming up with better design ideas for our prototype. We have made major changes to the design to emphasize user experience. This includes making sure everything is readable. That means having a good color contrast between the background and text. Additionally, it means having the right font and boldness depending on the context of the page. In our new prototype as seen above, we have decided to change our pages to white and remove the gradient so it is easily readable. We also made sure the fonts and boldness were consistent throughout the pages where it made sense to have the same setup.

Preparing for Prototype Inspection Day (PID)

This week we were able to go over our prototype with our liaisons to get feedback on it as we prepare for PID. They approved of our new design choices and emphasized having consistent changes. They pointed out that we can make any design changes we believe is good but we have to be consistent. The team greatly appreciated the liaisons feedback and are going to make sure we implement them before PID.

Next Steps

Our next steps include making the necessary changes to our prototype and ensuring it is completely ready for PID. We also plan on rehearsing our presentation for PID so it goes smoothly and we can get as much feedback as possible.

We greatly appreciate the support and can’t wait to show you our prototype!

Week #9: PDR Presentation Week

PDR Presentation

This week was our Preliminary Design Report (PDR) presentation for the sponsor company. Team Loyalty had their presentation on Zoom on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025. Overall, it was an insightful and informative presentation. It was positive and went smoothly. The team greatly appreciated all the feedback received and will continue to work hard on it to address the feedback received. The team was also hard at work on our PDR paper this week. We look forward to making the modifications for continuous improvement.

Next Steps

As we go into the next week, we are going to focus on Prototype Inspection Day. We are going to work on polishing our Figma prototype and converting our prototype to a more interactive prototype by coding it.

We can’t wait to share our prototype updates with you soon!

Week #8: Prepping for PDR Presentation

Steps for Preparation

Our team has been hard at work preparing for our preliminary design report presentation and soaked in all of the feedback we have received in the past few weeks. We have worked on our prototype, PDR report, and our PDR report slides in preparation for this upcoming presentation week. We momentarily focused on PDR assignments and slides in preparation for this upcoming week. We have made some changes to our prototype but we will present our changes soon!

Next Steps

As we go into the next week, we are going to focus on practicing our presentation for Bealls Inc. and making sure our presentation is up to standard. We expect to receive more feedback after our PDR presentation and will continue to polish our PDR and prototype for the rest of the semester.

Stay tuned for more!

Week #7: PDR Peer Review Event

Team Loyalty PDR Peer Event

First of all, thank you to everyone that was in attendance and gave constructive feedback on our presentation. Our presentation went extremely well and the audience was amazing. We went over our PDR to get feedback on how to improve our presentation before we present it to our sponsor, Bealls Inc. We received and heard all of the criticisms and are excited to polish our presentation. Team Loyalty also had the pleasure of listening to 3 other teams and their PDR presentation. They were great at presenting and received our criticisms very well.

Next Steps

Additionally, we have expanded our prototyping and we are in the process of finishing our first iteration of a fully functional prototype. We are preparing this for the presentation to our sponsor so we get feedback right away on what to change. We understand that this process is going to be iterative and will have constant changes so it can be the best it can be.

Thank you for your continued support and keep tuning in to our project for more!

Week #6: Prototyping New Design & Getting Closer to PDR Presentation!

Deep into Prototyping New Design!

Our second iteration of the prototype is still in progress but this week we showed our coach and liaison the work we have done so far and they offered insightful critiques. Some of the changes we noted were the color ways of the two sides of our app. The default shopping products will be bealls products and they can switch to Bealls Florida in the services menu and it’ll change the look of the app. We also got access to a testing website through their website to be consistent with their website. The prototyping has moved along well and we are excited to have a clean finalized version ready to present for our on site visit which is soon to be confirmed!

Additionally, we are in the works of setting up our presentations for our visit to the Bealls Inc. site. We are excited to present our ideas!

We will soon have our new prototype ready to show you all. The image is a sneak peak into our design. Stay tuned!

Week #5- Official Logo and Prototyping Continued!

After many iterations and suggestions from classmates in the teams channel, we have finally found a logo that represents us. We wanted to keep the name loyalty and the phone icon to represent our project. Then, by adding the bell and the color read, we were able to connect it to our project sponsor Bealls Inc.!

Deep into Prototyping!

Our first iteration of the prototype walkthrough went smoothly in our meeting this week. We were able to show core functionality of our proposed app and welcomed ideas to improve it. There are many ideas we have to keep improving our prototype and are excited to see how it evolves each week.

We have exciting activities coming quickly, such as our first draft of the PDR and scheduling our dates to visit our sponsor company site. Stay tuned for exciting updates and we might have a new sleek design of our app in the works we might tease soon!
