This week is all about refining our research and ideas for the asset management system we are developing for Northrop Grumman. We finalize the team logo and name, with approvals from both the liaison and coach. We explored multiple technologies, including RFID, UWB, NFC, and Resonance Sound Activation, evaluating each based on how well it aligns with the project’s goals and Project Design Specifications (PDS).
RFID is still the leading choice for its simplicity and cost-effectiveness, but interference and range are concerns.
UWB provides better accuracy but is more expensive and complex.
Resonance Sound Activation is innovative, but its maturity and reliability have to be further examined.
After presenting our findings to the coach and liaison, we received valuable feedback and are now moving forward with adjustments to improve the overall design. We are now compiling these insights into our Project First-Month Report, which is a draft of our PDR report due in mid-October. This report will help us present our findings in a structured manner and solidify our direction moving forward.
