Google Drive progress!

Hello everybody!!! Parchment is very excited about this week as we have completed some of the items of work with the Google Drive API and its integration into Parchment. We had a great meeting with Sam our liaison as we discussed the next big feature we are integrating into Parchment, which is the ability to connect google drive folders and files seamlessly into Parchment. The team has already done three big steps towards its progression. First, we created a separate repo from Parchment that would be used to experiment with the API, this was done through a React app. Secondly, we successfully implemented the Google Drive quick start into our react app and successfully connected a personal Gmail account that could utilize the API. Thirdly, we re-evaluated with the team the goals for this feature, and how to space it into phases. Our goal for this week is to experiment much more with the API and its documentation in order to have a good idea as to what it provides. All of this learnings will be documented and tested through Postman. After, we hope to start integrating it into Parchment’s UX and developing designs for how we want the user’s workflow to function. Below is a screenshot of the quick start guide, it’s a very basic UX with one button to connect to the google account but its a great stepping stone for the future!

Thank you and see you all next week with much more progress!
