Prior to attending UF, he graduated high school with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems at Florida Atlantic University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dustin currently works as a Teaching Assistant for COP3530, where he instructs students on data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, and computational theory using C++. As the class design lead, he also works to develop a uniform design framework for course material and its web presence. Previously, he worked at Pratt &amp; Whitney as a data science intern, working to create and maintain internal, enterprise-wide AI\/ML applications using Python, React, and natural language processing techniques. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his time at Florida Atlantic University, Dustin found a passion for business, big data, and starting entrepreneurial ventures. However, having a lifelong passion for technology, he knew he wanted to dive deeper into the technical world of business. This lead him to pursue a second degree in Computer Science, paired with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Thus, he is always searching for new business opportunities. He is currently working on Perch, a startup focused on making parking on college campuses easy, accessible, and stress-free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dustin is recognized as a National Merit Scholar and a Snow Scholar. As a software development intern there, she learned the process of implementing<br>front-end and back-end features at the request of clients as well as aided in researching and<br>developing system designs for new features. In 2019, Chance was one of 14 students to receive<br>the Google Generation Scholarship based on impact on diversity, demonstrated leadership, and<br>academic background. Alongside this, she also got the chance to participate in the Google<br>Computer Science Summer Institute, an intensive summer program that taught students how to<br>develop web applications. She is excited to work in web development or software engineering in<br>the future so that she can gain more knowledge on development for clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of her experiences, Chance is passionate in mentoring and guiding young students who<br>are minorities or live in underprivileged communities. She hopes that she can help lead them to<br>figuring out their own goals and aspirations in life. Patrick will graduate from the University of Florida in May 2022 with a dual degree: a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the College of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Patrick has dedicated himself to his education, taking challenging courses of interest that contribute to&nbsp;his problem-solving capabilities and his general&nbsp;understandings&nbsp;of various concepts.&nbsp;While his computer science major reflects his&nbsp;intention&nbsp;to work as a software developer after graduation, he decided to also major in mathematics based on his enjoyment of the subject.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This past summer, Patrick interned with Citi as a technology summer analyst. This gave him the opportunity to learn from and contribute to a professional software development team; based on his performance, Patrick received&nbsp;an offer to return&nbsp;for a&nbsp;full-time&nbsp;software development&nbsp;position&nbsp;after he graduates.&nbsp;Patrick is&nbsp;also&nbsp;a calculus tutor through the University of Florida\u2019s teaching center, which provides free tutoring and resources to UF students. She plans to graduate in May 2022 and pursue a career in software engineering. During her time at UF, Allison has taken a wide range of classes in the field of computer science that has given her experience in areas such as databases, programming language concepts, performant programming, and more. Allison has also enjoyed taking classes in the college of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering for her Biomechanics minor, where she was able to learn about the engineering principles behind biological systems and the human body. Allison has an interest in continuing this education once graduating and finding a career developing software in the medical field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This past summer, Allison had the opportunity to do a remote internship with Cloudera, where she developed an end-to-end web application using Java and React. To deploy the application, Allison was able to work with various cloud technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. Along with developing technical skills, Allison was able to experience working on a professional team and practicing clear and effective communication in the workplace. Allison is looking forward to continuing her professional development in computer science after graduation.
