Description: Development of a hand held wireless device which allows remote access to a server maintenance module using a Handspring Visor and the Bluetooth protocol.
IBM-Austin, TX
AIX CIFS Client
Description: Developing software to extend IBM's AIX Operating System kernel to support mounting Common Internet File System (CIFS) directories from remote servers on a network. This will enable AIX users to access files provided by CIFS Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices and by hosts running a variety of different operating systems.
Intellon Corporation
UNITED-USB Ethernet Device
Description: Design and development of a complete reference design kit that illustrates how to connect an Intellon power line ethernet chip set to a USB bridge. This includes a reference board (PCB) and driver software.
Intersil Corporation
PWM Evaluation Board
Description: Design and development of an evaluation board to help Intersil customers evaluate the functionalities of Intersil Star*Power radiation-hardened integrated circuits for power supplies.
Intersil Corporation
Multichip Hybrid Circuit Dev.
Description: Combine several radiation hardened power integrated circuit dies in a hybrid package. Design includes, circuit selection, package selection, high current, high heat, small volume and area. The hybrid package part will be marketed for DC/DC converter designs for space and military applications.
Kimberly-Clark
Optimization of Nonwoven Treatment
Description: Nonwoven fabrics are used in the production of diapers. The objective of the project is to optimize the treatment of the nonwoven material.
Kraft Corporation
Automatic Control of Industrial Roaster
Description: Design implementation of and test an automatic control system to operate an industrial coffee roaster with the objective of producing coffee of optimal color and moisture content.
Lockheed Martin
Cruise Missile Power Pack
Description: Design and fabricate a powerpack that contains lithium batteries and ultracapacitors made of nanomaterials. This powerpack will deliver high-power electrical pulses for the flight termination system of an advanced cruise missile.
Mark IV Automotive
Formed End Hose
Description: Develop the process and tooling required to create dimensionally correct formed end hoses for automotive applications. Eliminate end trim waste from the process.
Motorola
Wireless Remote Monitoring and Control
Description: Design and development of a wireless Remote Monitoring System (RMS). The system will enable the wireless monitoring and control of a remote system via a subscriber service by various point-of-contact devices.
North American Archery Group
Broadhead Slotting Machine
Description: Design and development of a reconfigurable automated slotting machine for broadheads. The machine must be programmable and be capable of machining a wide variety of slot configurations with minimal setup times.
